MED+ Urgent Medical Care Services, located in the heart of the Montgomery business district, opened its doors in November 2004 to conveniently serve the needs of Montgomery and neighboring communities. Area primary care physicians will find MED+ a convenience-based and economical extension of their private practices, since MED+ is open 12 hours on weekdays and 8 hours both Saturday and Sunday. With long hours of operation and no appointment necessary, a patient can receive quality treatment at a rate lower than an emergency room visit when most physicians’ offices are closed.
The new urgent care center, located at 9549 Montgomery Road, is a much-welcomed addition to the Montgomery area, as MED+ offers high-quality treatment for non life-threatening injuries and illnesses on a walk-in basis. Family friendly and discreet, a trip to MED+ requires no appointment, and plenty of free parking is available.
Physicians recognize that most area emergency rooms are challenged to serve the needs of those seeking treatment of life-threatening events. Since the physician-patient relationship at MED+ is event-based, MED+ is a convenient alternative, offering comfortable waiting areas for families, quick and friendly check-in and timely attention by its team of experienced and highly skilled urgent care specialists. Primary care doctors will also find they can direct out-of-town visitors with confidence to the new MED+ facility and its experienced staff. Another benefit of MED+ is its ability to refer new residents without primary care providers to area doctors accepting new patients.
Highly trained and skilled medical professionals work under the direction of tri-state native M. Susan Lohre, M.D., MED+ Medical Director. Dr. Lohre is Board Certified in Emergency Medicine and has been practicing Emergency Medicine for more than 20 years. Prior to joining MED+, Dr. Lohre was on staff at Washington University Medical School, St. Louis, and was a clinical instructor at a level one Trauma Center at its Barnes Hospital. Before that she was director of the Emergency Room at Missouri Baptist Hospital, also in St. Louis.
The new MED+ location includes two general exam rooms, three specialty rooms and an X-Ray suite. MED+ offers a wide range of services from immunizations and tetanus shots to treatment of minor cuts, burns and fractures, as well as seasonal ailments such as sore throats, coughs, earaches, fever and flu. In short, MED+ serves as a perfect complement to primary care physicians with patients experiencing after-hours urgent medical needs. As a service, MED+ Urgent Medical Care Services will forward patient charts to any primary care physicians seen at its facility. Should questions arise about a patient or when referral is needed, MED+ will promptly contact the primary care physician.
As an added benefit, MED+ accepts a wide range of insurance programs, Worker's Compensation plans, major credit cards, Medical Savings Plan debit cards, checks and cash.
